Robotic device liked and well-known by everyone. It has been created with the purpose to regain the functionality of lower extremities of adult patients and children that have partially or fully lost it.
The device consists of exoskeletal orthoses that are adjustable to adult patients and children that are minimally 4,5 years old. The device motivates the patients in a fun and interactive way through video games, to make a certain movement multiple times, which improves their recovery. Although it is primarily recommended to neurological patients, the latest study have shown excellent results even in orthopedic patients.
Lokomat is the world’s leading robotic medical device. An additional motivation for the patients is gained with the biofeedback, or to be more exact - with precise measurement work through the sensors that are situated on the knee and hip part of the orthosis. This way, the patients have a credible insight in their medical improvement. It is intended for patients that have lost their leg functionality due to a stroke, cerebral paralysis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic brain injury, degenerative illness of the lower extremities’ joints or muscle atrophy. Indications for the device have also children that are minimally 4,5 years old.
